These are photos from the 179th Vankleek Hill Agricultural Fair Parade… yes, there was a Theme.
…it was bees — “Vankleek Hill Is The Place To Bee”. People submitted photos of bees to be judged, as well as bee-themed quilts, homemade bee-based food (honey-based, nobody was cooking with bees), bee-paintings, bee-themed painted horses, beeswax candles, there was an unBEElievable amount of bee-based stuff… yes, I did that voluntarily. Buzz buzz buzz.
We do have a lot of beekeepers around here, so it made sense — McCaig Natural Honey [link] [link], and Gibbs Honey [link] are two of the oldest and largest, but there are about a dozen more Bee Farms in the Prescott-Russell region.
I always enjoy shooting parades, even on overcast days, because everyone is willing to pose for the camera… so, click on a photo to get the carousel going. Or not. No pressure. Buzz buzz buzz.
