The entire reason the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Fair exists is having a place for local farmers to gather to show off their livestock, their seeds, their produce and vegetables, and to just get away and chill for a weekend.

Families would meet and great, and trade recipes, see who had the best jams, the best floral arrangements, check out the latest techniques in their livelihood.

This was the 180th anniversary of the VKH Fair, and it was without a doubt the largest in recent memory… the Fair Committee even brought the RCMP Musical Ride to town to celebrate the Event [link].

…I’m not sure how they’re going to top this, the next big number is only twenty-years away. Maybe they’ll invite Beyoncé… you know, if she’s still wearing her cowboy hat [link].
