Autumn is officially here, so most of the flower gardens in Vankleek Hill are being cleaned up for winter… however, I did manage to find one bee working in my parents’ garden.
…once again I find it important to point out that I once, long ago, used to take photos of punk bands. Maybe one day I’ll get a working scanner and post some of them.
Speaking of which, I have a large box of negatives in my basement of images I’ve taken from 1994 to, roughly, 2002… I have no idea what to do with them. I tried taking a few of them to the local Photo Store a couple of years ago, but they didn’t do any adjustments to them, so the prints were just awful.
They’re mostly black & white negatives… I should probably invest in a negative-to-digital scanner, I just checked and Kodak has one for $50, but you’re scanning to a phone, which I don’t have. Then they go up to $250 for a basic model that scans to a USB stick. But that’s a LOT of milk money, and my kids do enjoy a glass of milk before bed.
…anyway, if you click on a photo it’ll get the carousel going, if you do you’ll see the Bee in three of the shots. Enjoy. Buzz buzz buzz.

Maybe you want to set up a KoFi link (or something like it) so people can contribute to getting that scanner? I’d love to see those old photos so I could kick in a couple bucks. That seems fair for all the nice content you post.

…you’re right, I do supply some very nice content. I’ll look into the KoFi thing, I’ve seen other blogs with the “buy me a coffee” thing, but I don’t know if I have the right WordPress package to get it on my blog… I’ve signed up for the Basic Package, and the last time I checked they don’t like us monetizing our blogs.
Thanks for the comment, Brad, and for saying nice things about my content.

Me too – I live with chronic illness, so I often feel like I’ve lost my bloom, but I’m still standing – just like those flowers! xx

“…still standing” is a good place to be after fighting a chronic illness for so long.

The last bee of autumn—such a rare capture! Those old band photos sound intriguing. Have you thought about any DIY options to digitize the negatives?

…I really don’t know of any DIY options, if you’ve got some ideas I’d love to hear them. I have hundreds of B&W (and a few colour) negatives in the basement and there’s really no archival catalogue standard… basically they’re just in sheets of 36-shots cut into six strips of six shots each, and stored in a big old box. I did manage to find some old prints of concert shots, and I’m in the process of scanning them, so there’s a plan to post them soon (there’s one below).
Thanks Akhtar, for both visiting, and for the comment.

Hi again, You can revive your old negatives into digital photos. Few years back, I used the app like the one in this link and it was amazing. You may wish to try it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kada.negativeimage.InvertImage&hl=en&pli=1

Hi Akhtar! Thanks for coming back, and thanks for the idea… the App looks interesting but, the problem is, I’m one of maybe twenty people left in the world who doesn’t own a cell/smart phone. Thanks again for the comment, and for taking the time to help. I really appreciate it.
