This is rapidly becoming one of my favourite events at the Vankleek Hill Fair. It’s tucked away in a tiny corner, behind the bleachers where the families are watching ancient tractors drag huge weights, beside the beer garden where a Celtic duo are playing songs about bagpipes on their keyboard, and just around the corner from the parking lot used by the people in the light-horse competitions.
It’s a handful of people, mostly young families watching young families. I’ve only watched a few games, and I’ve only seen it as an event at the Fair twice, but it’s an event everyone has a great time watching, and a great time playing.
And there don’t seem to be many rules…
Plus, it’s a lot of fun to shoot. It’s kind of hard to screw up a photo opportunity like this… just stay out of the way, and try to get the ball in the frame. That’s pretty much it.
