I’ve now been to three of the five annual Multicultural Festivals in Hawkesbury, and this one had the biggest crowd by far… I did miss the first one, which featured Montreal’s very own ‘The Box’, and the second one which featured New Brunswick’s ‘Radio Radio’, so those could have had crowds as big as Woodstock back in ’69 for all I know, but I think I would have seen that on the news at some point.
The 2025 version featured local artist, Manon Séguin, Elizabeth Diaga & Her Queens of Rock Show, as well as the legendary Roch Voisine [here] [here], and it was a very good time.
The first night of the 2026 version of the Festival [lineup here] featured Héloïse Yelle [here], Mélissa Bédard [here], Ludovick Bourgeois [here], and very very very special guest, Martin Deschamps [wiki here] [here].
I have so many Events to take photos of this weekend, so I have to make this post a little shorter than I wanted… I’ve been downloading and editing photos since the Event finished, and now it’s 5:30am, and I have to be at the VKH Fair Grounds by noon to take photos of big trucks, and even bigger Monster Trucks. And then it’s back to the Multicultural Festival in Hawkesbury by 7pm to take photos of the Boogie Wonder Band. Wish me luck.
…anyway, the concert was exceptionally cool, the huge crowd had a great time, with lots of dancing, singing, and bouncing around. To see photos from the fist night of the Festival, just click on the first photo to get the carousel going — remember, comments are always welcome, and virtually free to make.
